SIGIRIYA

 Sigiriya, located in the heart of Sri Lanka, is one of the most spectacular and historic places in the country. The ancient rock fortress, which dates back to the 5th century AD, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

The fortress was built by King Kasyapa, who ruled Sri Lanka from 477-495 AD. The wall is so named because of its highly polished surface, which was originally intended to reflect the frescoes above. Over the centuries, visitors to Sigiriya have written graffiti on the wall, and today it serves as an important historical record of the site.

At the top of the rock, visitors can explore the ruins of the ancient fortress, which include the remains of the king's palace, as well as a series of gardens, fountains, and pools. From the top of the rock, visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
